Week 6

During Week 6, the group met outside of the lab to further refine the details of the design. Members of the group took a visit to the machine shop to get more information on the process of actually machining the prototype and to try to begin to get familiar with what options there were as far as materials and machine capabilities. The entire group met with Dr. Seliktar in order to possibly get some insight on a few specific mechanisms that need to be incorporated into the device. Dr. Seliktar gave an alternative design idea to consider and the group decided it would be best to take up and continue his proposed design. This week will consist of deciding on dimensions, seriously fleshing out details, and possibly beginning to make a prototype.
